Heat release (Delta H) and temperature dependence during grain growth
of electroplated Ni of 20 nm grain size was investigated by differenti
al scanning calorimetry (DSC). The corresponding change in microstruct
ure was monitored by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A superpo
sition of three exothermic reactions was observed. The results are dis
cussed in comparison with measurements in 10 nm Ni-samples.
