My. Gutkin et al., ON THE ROLE OF DISCLINATIONS IN RELAXATION AND DEFORMATION PROCESSES IN NANOSTRUCTURED MATERIALS, Nanostructured materials, 6(5-8), 1995, pp. 779-782
The features of grain boundary disclination splitting in nanocrystals
are theoretically examined. It is shown that there are three basic var
iants of such splitting as a relaxation process which are specified by
different values of elastic-energy decrease. Also, the contribution o
f disclinations as strengthening elements to processes of plastic defo
rmation in metallic glass-nanocrystal composites is discussed.
