Abstract
The linear shrinkage of nanometric iron powders consolidated at 1.5 GP a was studied using different atmospheres. The variations in shrinkage were analysed for the initial stage of sintering during isothermal ex periments. From sintering data analysis, it was possible to calculate the activation energy of the responsible mass transport process in the initial stage.
