The preparation, by a chemical reduction method the morphological and
structural characterization and the study of the magnetic properties o
f amorphous Fe80-xCrxB20 particles is reported. The results indicate c
orrelation between size and composition distribution and the presence
of different iron species. With increasing x the macroscopic magnetic
properties evolve from a perturbed ferromagnetic state to a state char
acterized by coexisting ferro and antiferromagnetic interactions.
