OSTEO-DENTAL FLUOROSIS IN BOVINES OF TRIBAL REGION IN DHUNGARPUR (RAJASTHAN)

Total 1023 Indian domestic animals (901 cattles and 122 buffaloes) of tribal villages of Dungarpur Panchayat Samiti of Dungarpur district of Rajasthan were examined for the evidence of dental and skeletal fluor osis. On the basis of clinical findings 594 animals showed the evidenc e of dental fluorosis and 353 showed skeletal fluorosis. Varying grade of dental fluorosis was found in 59.37% cattles and 48.36% buffaloes whereas 35.62% cattles and 26.22% buffaloes showed skeletal fluorosis. Skeletal fluorosis in relation to fluoride concentration and age has also been focussed.
