Rate constants of singlet oxygen quenching by glycyrrhetic acid, glycy
rrhizic acid, isoliquiritigenin, licurazide, D-glucose, and L-arabinos
e were determined. An increase in the quenching rate constants by more
than an order of magnitude is observed on going from aglycone to the
corresponding glycoside.
