Abstract
We have used a relativistic classical trajectory Monte Carlo (CTMC)-me thod to calculate cross sections for single and double ionization of h elium by relativistic heavy ions. We compare our results with experime ntally obtained cross sections. We comment on the limits of the validi ty of relativistic classical calculations.
