Abstract
As quantum wells become shallow, excitons change from 2D- to 3D-like. We show that, with extremely shallow wells and in-plane magnetic field s, truly two-body effects determine the exciton confinement properties . This can be observed experimentally via the changes in magnetoexcito n linewidth, electroabsorption behavior, and dynamics for different ma gnetic field orientations.
