Abstract
A lattice-gas model with anisotropic lateral interactions is used to d escribe formation of the missing-row structure of the clean Pt(110) su rface and destruction of this structure during CO adsorption at covera ges above a quarter of a monolayer, and to interpret the special featu res of thermal desorption spectra of the CO/Pt(110) system.
