Abstract
The C(3P(J)) + NO(X 2PI(r)) --> CN(X 2SIGMA+) + O(3P(J)) reaction is s tudied using combined pulsed lasers and pulsed, crossed, supersonic mo lecular beams. The relative reactive cross-section is found to decreas e slowly in the relative translational energy domain sampled, epsilon( tr) = 0.038 - 0.163 eV (1 eV almost-equal-to 1.602 18 x 10(19) J), wit h a dependence that can be fitted to a (epsilon(tr))-1/3 functionality .
