Structural properties of epitaxial ferromagnetic MnSb layers were char
acterized. The layers were directly grown on GaAs(100) substrates by h
ot-wall epitaxy. The MnSb c-planes are parallel to GaAs{111}A planes,
which leads to double domain configuration. The generation of the doub
le domain is suppressed by using misoriented substrates towards GaAs[0
11]. Transmission electron microscope observation revealed the faceted
structure of the layer and the generation of unintentional protrusion
s at the interface.
