Abstract
We determine numerically the current distribution in a rectangular Hal l bar of arbitrary aspect ratio embedded in an infinite strip, without using a common approximation such as perfectly conducting leads or a long sample. For a short sample with large enough difference between s ample and contact Hall voltages, closed current loops occur.
