Low-energy resonances involving the (3) Sigma(-), (1) Delta and (1) Si
gma(+) states of NO- have been studied by high-resolution electron sca
ttering integrated over the angular range 60-120 degrees and in the en
ergy range 0.07-1.6 eV. The resonant vibrational energies of the (3) S
igma(-) State yield agreement with the NO electron affinity of 24 meV
determined from photodetachment studies. The widths of the vibrational
series (3) Sigma(-) and (1) Delta increase slowly with the vibrationa
l quantum number at variance with calculations.
