The first ammonium cobalt gallium phosphate hydrate, NH4[CoGa2P3O12(H2
O)(2)] has been prepared under solvothermal conditions and the structu
re determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction [space group C2/c
, a = 13.323(3), b = 10.245(1), c = 8.886(2) Angstrom, beta = 108.43(2
)degrees, V = 1150.68 Angstrom(3), Z = 4]. The structure consists of G
aO5, CoO6 and PO4 polyhedra linked to form a microporous three-dimensi
onal framework containing channels in which the NH4+ cations reside.
