Abstract
The complex structures of the economically important group of profiset inidin triflavanoid related phlobatannins are synthetically accessable in a controlled biomimetic fashion via the repetitive formation of th e interflavanyl bond and pyran ring rearrangement of the chain extende r unit under mild alkaline conditions.
