Abstract
Some of the nuclear substituted derivatives of diphenylcarbazone have been synthesised and characterised by means of elemental and spectral analysis. All the compounds have been tested in vitro against NCI cell panel consisting of 57 human tumor cell lines derived from nine cance r types at five different concentrations of 10-fold dilutions using su lphorhodamine B protein assay. A 48h continuous drug exposure protocol has been used to determine cell viability or growth. The cytotoxicity of these compounds on human malignant cell lines have been observed a t their minimum concentration level (i.e. < 10 mu g/mL).
