Abstract
We explore the possibility of deforming Gell-Mann-Okubo (GMO) mass for mula within the framework of a quantized enveloping algebra. A small v alue of the deformation parameter is found to provide a good fit to th e observed mass spectra of the pi, K and eta mesons.
