Abstract
2,4,6-trimethoxybenzyl (Tmob) thioacetate prepared from corresponding alcohol using Ph(3)P, diisopropyl azodicarboxylate, and AcSH reacts wi th primary or secondary alkyl halides, and alcohol derivative to give 2,4,6-trimethoxybenzyl thioethers in high yields.
