Wr. Meyer et Dj. Dotters, LASER TREATMENT OF RECURRENT VULVAR ANGIOKERATOMA ASSOCIATED WITH NOONAN SYNDROME, Obstetrics and gynecology, 87(5), 1996, pp. 863-865
Background: Vulvar angiokeratoma is often confused with other, more co
mmon perineal lesions. Chronically elevated venous pressures may contr
ibute to this rare disorder. Laser treatment may lend palliation for s
everal years. Case: A woman with the characteristic cardiac abnormalit
ies of Noonan syndrome initially responded to Argon laser treatment of
vulvar angiokeratoma. Excessive recurrent disease was treated satisfa
ctorily with the Nd:YAG laser. Conclusion: Recurrent vulvar angiokerat
oma in Noonan syndrome supports the premise that increased persistent
central venous pressure may be involved in the disease process.
