SYNERGISM IN A BINARY MIXTURE OF NONIONIC AND CATIONIC SURFACTANTS

Magnitudes of CMC for the mixtures of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide a nd Triton X-100 with various mole ratios of surfactant components in t he bulk of aqueous solution were determined. Parameters of the molecul ar interaction in a mixed micelle and in the adsorption layer at the m ixed surfactant solution-air interface as well as the composition of t he mixed micelles and the adsorbed layer were calculated. The interact ion energy between different molecules both in mixed micelles and the mixed adsorbed layer was shown to increase with the mole fraction of n onionic surfactant in a solution.
