Single crystals of phosphoric-acid-doped triglycine sulfate (TGSP) wer
e grown from aqueous solutions with various concentrations of H3PO4 in
the ferroelectric phase. The development of crystal faces is graduall
y modified as the concentration of H3PO4 in the solution becomes highe
r. In particular, the {010} faces become more conspicuous with greater
doping. A high number of H3PO4 molecules are incorporated into the {0
10} growth sectors. The general crystal form shows the nonpolar 2/m sy
mmetry similar to that of pure TGS, due to its multidomain structure.
