Abstract
New zwitterionic sigma-C-C-bonded Meisenheimer complexes 3 are obtaine d by treatment of sulfonium ylides 2 with 4,6-dinitrobenzofuroxan 1. T he reaction of 3 with nitric acid affords the 5,7-dinitrobenzofurazan- 4-yl aryl diketones 4.
