Gj. Obrien et Ew. Teather, A DYNAMIC-MODEL FOR PREDICTING EFFLUENT CONCENTRATIONS OF ORGANIC PRIORITY POLLUTANTS FROM AN INDUSTRIAL WASTE-WATER TREATMENT-PLANT, Water environment research, 67(6), 1995, pp. 935-942
A dynamic model that successfully predicted effluent concentrations of
several priority pollutants has been developed. The aeration and clar
ifier tanks were modeled, and the model was verified with data collect
ed from a large industrial wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The WWTP
uses powdered activated carbon in combination with activated sludge i
n the aeration tanks (PACT process). A dynamic model was needed becaus
e the influent concentrations varied with time, and steady-state model
s could not adequately predict effluent concentrations.
