Abstract
Data from the single-colour polarised TP spectra and emission spectra of crystals of Cs2NaTbCl6 and Cs2NaTbF6, and from the emission spectru m of Cs2NaTbBr6 have been analysed. Evidence is found for a large corr elation crystal field, in several multiplets, that cannot be attribute d to spin-correlation alone.
