Abstract
We have investigated femtosecond photodoping effects in insulating YBa 2Cu3O6.2 and Nd2CuO4 thin films by means of femtosecond pump-probe spe ctroscopy. A change in the whole absorption spectrum in the visible re gion is observed after irradiation by femtosecond laser pulses, and th is can be explained as a carrier doping effect induced by a laser puls e. The fast decay behavior of the charge-transfer excited state result s from the nonradiative transition with emission of magnons.
