Abstract
Casework observations are reported which demonstrate two important and related phenomena regarding the use of the Electrostatic Detection Ap paratus (ESDA): friction between paper surfaces can produce effects de tectable using the ESDA and ESDA-detectable impressions can be transfe rred via contact and not only by the act of writing.
