Abstract
Finely tunable wavelength conversion of a 10-Gb/s signal is demonstrat ed to wavelengths ranged from 1530 to 1560 nm with spacings of 0.5 nm and accuracy of +/-0.05 nm, where the Er3+ doped optical fiber amplifi er has optical gain, by using a super structure grating distributed Br agg reflector laser, Transmission of a wavelength-converted 10-Gb/s si gnal within the entire target wavelength range over a 100-km optical f iber is also demonstrated using a dispersion-shifted optical fiber.
