Em. Yoon et al., HIGH-TEMPERATURE STABILIZERS FOR JET FUELS AND SIMILAR HYDROCARBON MIXTURES .1. COMPARATIVE-STUDIES OF HYDROGEN DONORS, Energy & fuels, 10(3), 1996, pp. 806-811
The results of a number of screening experiments are reported that wer
e designed to seek hydrogen donor molecules that function as high-temp
erature stabilizers (i.e., >400 degrees C) in jet fuels and similar hy
drocarbon mixtures. The most important conclusion of this work was tha
t in the temperature range between 400 and 450 degrees C, 1,2,3,4-tetr
ahydroquinoline (THQ) was by far the best thermal stabilizer that we h
ave discovered to date and significantly more effective than benzyl al
cohol (BzOH), our previous benchmark.
