Abstract
Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) is a form of assisted reproducti on which may he used as an alternative to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in certain circumstances, It is undertaken as a single day-case episo de and requires less embryological expertise than IVF, GIFT has been s uccessfully carried out in a number of district general hospitals, The details of the procedure as presently undertaken in Wigan are describ ed.
