Abstract
Thromboembolism in pregnancy is a major cause of maternal mortality. P
regnancy, particularly caesarean section, increases the risk of thromb
osis. This article discusses the risk factors, the drugs used and the
indications for prophylaxis of thromboembolism in pregnancy.
