Abstract
The operating conditions of a plasma accelerator are examined. It is f ound that operation changes in the presence of a metal or quartz targe t. Under these conditions, the potential and electron temperature dist ributions along the accelerator channel are measured. A plausible expl anation of the observed effect is proposed.
