Va. Dubovitskii et al., PARAMETRIC ANALYSIS OF THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES FOR A MEDIUM WITHSTRONG INTERACTION BETWEEN PARTICLES, Plasma physics reports, 22(4), 1996, pp. 334-337
Thermodynamic analysis of media with strong interparticle (Coulomb) in
teraction is presented. A method for constructing isotherms is propose
d for a medium described by a closed multicomponent thermodynamic mode
l. The method is based on choosing an appropriate nondegenerate frame
of reference in the extended space of thermodynamic variables and prov
ides efficient thermodynamic calculations in a wide range of parameter
s, for an investigation of phase transitions of the first kind, and fo
r determining both the number of phases and coexistence curves. A numb
er of approximate thermodynamic models of hydrogen plasma are discusse
d. The approximation corresponding to the n(5/2) law, in which the eff
ects of particle attraction and repulsion are taken into account quali
tatively, is studied. This approximation allows studies of thermodynam
ic properties of a substance for a wide range of parameters. In this a
pproximation, for hydrogen at a constant temperature, various properti
es of the degree of ionization are revealed. In addition, the paramete
rs of the second critical point are found under conditions correspondi
ng to the Jovian interior.
