Abstract
Aqueous polymer quenchants may be used in conjunction with continuous furnaces with chute-quench systems for a variety of heat treatment pro cesses. The success of chute quenching depends upon the magnitude and uniformity of the agitation used. This paper offers recommended design guidelines, also applicable to oil and water quenching, and illustrat es a number of chute-quench systems.
