The interaction of ammonium chloride and magnesium sulphate on gelatin
, a high molecular protein is studied. Various salt concentrations (0.
25-4 M) were allowed to interact with gelatin solution. The ultrasonic
velocity is high in salt solution than in the mixtures. In pure salt
the velocity increases linearly with concentration. Other parameters l
ike, adiabatic compressibility, free length, free volume, internal pre
ssure, molar sound velocity and molar compressibility are presented. T
he molar compressibility is very high in mixtures than in the salt sol
ution. It is observed that the interaction between ammonium chloride a
nd gelatin is mote than that of magnesium sulphate and gelatin.
