C. Umeton et al., SELF HETERODYNING - A VERSATILE TECHNIQUE TO INVESTIGATE NEMATIC LIQUID-CRYSTALS, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals science and technology. Section A, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals, 261, 1995, pp. 187-195
It is described the ''self - heterodyning'' technique, based on the de
tection of the intensity oscillations which, in the far field zone, ca
n be observed, in the initial transient, at the center of a beam which
crosses a homeotropically aligned nematic liquid cristal. The simplic
ity and versatility of the technique is supported by the wide range of
its applications.
