Abstract
5-Methyl tetrazole was N-protected with the trityl group and deprotona ted using n-BuLi. The resulting 5-methyl anion was trapped with a vari ety of electrophiles to provide B-substituted tetrazoles in good yield s. The trityl protecting group was readily removed using HCl in methyl ene chloride. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
