This study discusses the application of analog simulators to multipass
zone-refining processes. The structure, operation, and mathematical r
epresentation of none-refining simulators are discussed. The results o
btained from the proposed zone-refining simulators are in excellent ag
reement with analytical solutions. Furthermore, the simulators can als
o be used to simulate zone-refining with different initial distrbution
s of solute, variable distribution coefficient, and variable zone leng
th along the ingot.
