Abstract
Higher-order descriptions of Gaussian beams for the so-called standard , localized approximation and modified localized approximation cases a re provided. One of the applications of this work is the study of inte raction between a highly focused Gaussian beam and an infinite cylinde r, which will be published elsewhere.
