Abstract
A newly commercialized fluorinated silica, Fluofix 120N 2H,2H,3H,3H-tr idecafluoro(4,4-dimethylheptyl)silyl bonded spherical microporous sili ca gel], was used as a packing material for supercritical fluid chroma tography (SFC). The performance and stability of this fluorinated phas e were examined under different experimental conditions. The SFC behav ior of this phase was compared with a conventional C-18 bonded reverse d phase. The excellent separation power of the Fluofix 120N phase for fluorinated compounds was demonstrated by high-resolution separations of different perfluorinated polymers.
