The precipitation kinetics and structural characteristics of lamellar
precipitates in high nitrogen alloy HK 50 precipitated during isotherm
al transformation of austenite were studied. The obtained results have
shown that starting temperature of lamellar precipitation was 950-deg
rees-C and precipitation process ended at 1000-degrees-C. It was prove
d that lamellar carbides have not been observed in ageing process. The
average growth rate of lamellar cells and lattice parameter of untran
sformed austenite have shown descending course with advancing precipit
ation of lamellar carbides. During lamellar carbide precipitation the
metallic elements have shown short range diffusion and carbon exhibite
d long range diffusion. There have not been observed the evident nitro
gen distribution changes in alloy matrix.
