The experiment with a large (approximate to 95 cm(3)) Gd2SiO5:Ce cryst
al scintillator has been performed in the Solotvina Underground Labora
tory to search for neutrinoless double beta decay of Gd-160. Th, backg
round rate was reduced to a level of 0.045 counts/h/keV/kg in the vici
nity of beta beta decay energy of Gd-160 (1730 keV). Th,half-life limi
ts have been set for 0v beta beta decay of Gd-160: T-1/2(0v) (g.s. -->
g.s.) greater than or equal to 8.2 . 10(20)y (90% CL); T-1/2(0v) (0() --> 2(+)) greater than or equal to 8.2 . 10(20)y (90% CL).
