Abstract
DUMAND is a project to build a large deep underwater laboratory for th e study of high energy neutrinos from extrasolar sources. The stage 11 array - consisting of 216 optical modules covering an effective area of about 20.000 m(2) for neutrinos with energies above 500 GeV/c - is under construction. The fibre optic cable for data transmission has be en deployed successfully. A report on the present status of the experi ment is given.
