Ys. Yang et al., NMR CHARACTERIZATION OF DICYCLOPENTADIENE RESINS AND POLYDICYCLOPENTADIENES, Journal of applied polymer science, 60(13), 1996, pp. 2419-2435
Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) thermosetting resin has been characterized by
nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique. The main monomer in DCPD
resin is found to be in endo isomer form. Solid-state C-13 cross polar
ization/magic angle spinning and C-13 high-power decoupling NMR techni
ques have been applied for characterization of polymer network during
curing and after cure. NMR spectra of carbon atoms in rigid phase and
in mobile phase have been investigated. The possibility of three struc
tural elements in polymer network was discussed. Solid-state NMR techn
ique was applied to study of poly-DCPD oxidation. (C) 1996 John Wiley
