Treatment of benzylamines C(6)H(5)CH(2)NMe(2) (1), C6H5CH2N(Me)Bu(n) (
2), 4-MeC(6)H(4)CH(2)N(Me)Bu(n) (3), 4-OMeC(6)H(4)CH(2)N(Me) Bu(n) (4)
, 3,4-(OMe)(2)C6H3CH2N (Me) Bu(n) (5) and 3,5-(OMe)(2)C6H3CH2(Me)Bu(n)
(6) with Li2PdCl4 gave chloro-bridged cyclo-palladated dimers 1a-6a i
n methanol. The reactivities in these dimeric complexes with 4,4'-bipy
ridine, 1,1,2,2-tetraacetylethane, alpha,alpha,alpha',alpha'-tetraacet
yl-p-xylene, N,N'-bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)1 ,4-diaminobutane, N,N'-bi
s (2-hydroxy-3-t-butyl-5-methylbenzylidene) 1,4-diaminobutane and 2-hy
droxybenzalazine were studied and the resulting complexes were found t
o be cyclopalladated binuclear. These complexes were characterized by
H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and home- and heteronuclear correlated two-dimension
