The heating of swimming pools can be expensive in terms of energy cost
s and energy-saving measures which are much more effective than the si
mple recovery of the exhausted air are recommended. A new open-cycle a
bsorption system is presented here, operating by chemical dehumidifica
tion on the exhausted air. It allows important energy savings of the s
ame order as the motor-driven heat pump systems, although its technolo
gy is in principle simpler and cheaper. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Sc
