Kinetic study of the reaction of tantalum powder with hydrogen sulfide
. The reaction of a tantalum powder with hydrogen sulfide was studied
in the temperature range 580-680 degrees C and for H2S pressures betwe
en 0.5 and 5 kPa. By using a flowing H2S-Argon mixture we observed a l
inear kinetic law after a short period during which the rate goes down
. The proposed reaction at the center interface, as the limiting step,
is in agreement with the influence of H2S pressure.
