THE HUMAN GENE ENCODING THE HEAVY-CHAIN OF THE MAJOR HISTOCOMPATIBILITY COMPLEX CLASS I-LIKE FC RECEPTOR (FCGRT) MAPS TO 19Q13.3

FcRn is an Fc receptor that structurally resembles the major histocomp atibility complex class I molecule. In this study, we isolated the hum an gene encoding the heavy chain of FcRn (FCGRT) and mapped it by fluo rescence in situ hybridization to chromosome band 19q13.3. Thus, like its mouse counterpart, the human FCGRT gene is located outside the maj or histocompatibility complex.
