Abstract
Chlamydia trachomatis infections are the most common sexually transmit ted infections in the United States. These infections cause substantia l morbidity at great economic expense to men, women, and infants. This article provides an overview of this organism, its clinical presentat ion, diagnosis, treatment, and recommended patient education which can lessen the incidence of this widespread pathogen.
