Vi. Golubev et al., CLINICO-ELECTROMYOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTIC OF TORTICOLLIS SPASMODIC, Zurnal nevropatologii i psihiatrii im. S.S. Korsakova, 95(4), 1995, pp. 40-42
mThe aim of the study was the investigation of central and peripheral
pathogenetic mechanisms of torticollis spasmodic. It was examined 68 p
atients - 37 with left pathology and 31 - with right one. Electromyogr
ammes (EMG) were registrated in m. sternocleidomastaideos at rest and
under postural loadings (at siting and lying position of patients). St
atistically significant differences were found In the pattern of EMG i
n connection of the side of torticollis. In the case of the left side
of pathology EMG changes were presumably in ''participating'' muscle,
in the right disorders - in ''participating'' muscle as well as in ''n
onparticipating'' one (this change can be compensatory reaction which
direct to the correction of a torsion).
