Abstract
We investigated the magnetic properties, the macrostructure and micros tructure of specimens of steel 12Kh1MF cut out of the extended and neu tral zones of the knee of a steam pipe. It was discovered that the dev elopment of damage of the metal brings about a change in the distribut ion of dislocations and is accompanied by relaxation of internal stres ses. The article suggests a magnetic method of checking the developmen t of damage on the basis of an evaluation of a parameter connected wit h the level of internal stresses in the metal.
